Cadillac introduced a sportier version of the ATS model

Although the top version of the ATS-V has not yet arrived in Detroit, a sportier version of the Cadillac ATS was shown here. The two-door coupe wants to attack not only customers, but above all the leaders of the segment – Audi A5 and BMW 4 Coupé.

Compared to the sedan, perhaps more changes have taken place than is apparent at first glance. In the front part, the revised bumper and radiator grille attract attention, the shifted rear pillar and frameless windows stand out from the profile, and in the rear part it is completely different from the sedan. A less visible element is the redesigned roof . The ATS Coupé is also the first Cadillac to boast the brand's new logo . Cadillac hasn't let us into the interior yet, but it promises the use of real carbon, wood, aluminum and leather.

Technically, the coupe stands on the same basis as the sedan, and the wheelbase is even exactly the same at 2775 mm . A pair of units appear under the hood – a turbocharged two-liter four-cylinder engine has a power of 276 hp and a maximum torque of 400 Nm, an atmospheric 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine has a power of 325 hp and a maximum torque of 373 Nm. A six-speed automatic and rear-wheel drive are standard, but for an extra charge you can have a six-speed manual with the turbo engine and all-wheel drive for both units.

A weight distribution close to 50:50 , Brembo brakes and many hidden aerodynamic elements provide an excellent driving experience. For an extra fee, a package is available that includes adjustable Magnetic Ride Control dampers, a limited-slip differential, an improved cooling system, and eighteen-inch wheels with better tires. As part of the comfort equipment, the ATS Coupé can be equipped with GPS navigation, a Wi-Fi spot, the CUE information system with an eight-inch screen or a number of assistance systems for an additional fee.
