Cadillac introduced the extended ATS model for China

China is a specific automotive market for many reasons. One, for example, is that they will put up with extended versions of regular sedans . You could argue that extended models are also sold in Europe, but here they are derived from luxury limousines . In China, this fashion starts two segments lower.

The latest addition to the Chinese market, the Cadillac ATS-L , which will be reserved exclusively for China, falls into this category. Its main advantage is the wheelbase extended by 85 mm to the final 2860 mm. However, other figures also changed – the length increased by 76 mm to 4730 mm, the car expanded in width by 19 mm to 1824 mm and at the same time decreased by 6 mm to the final 1421 mm.

In terms of design, the car almost matches the overseas version of the ATS with the only exception being the extended rear doors. The ATS-L also won't get the automaker's new logo, and you can only choose 17- or 18-inch wheels. Under the hood we find a two-liter turbocharged four-cylinder SIDI gasoline engine with an output of 279 hp and a torque of 400 Nm or a 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine with an output of 320 hp. Both engines cooperate with a six-speed automatic.

The ATS-L will hit stores in the second half of this year. The price starts around 270,000 yuan (approx. 893,000 crowns).
