The German Mercedes-Benz is currently preparing a sharp version of the new " A ". An almost-revealed model was recently spotted that will carry the A45 AMG badge, but still had some remnants of camouflage on the lower front bumper or grille. However, the rear was completely exposed and one could not miss, for example, the diffuser with two exhaust tips.
Unfortunately, the sharp A45 AMG will be almost identical to the classic hatchback, which will boast the Sport package. But we can distinguish them mainly during two fundamental differences – the AMG has 18-inch alloy wheels and also rectangular exhaust tips. But don't worry, the real changes are under the hood, where the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with direct injection beats in the A250 Sport .
Mercedes revealed that the upcoming A45 AMG will have 350 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque from a turbocharged four-cylinder. Competitors fall behind, as the BMW M135i will offer "only" 320 hp and the Audi RS3 Sportback will also "only" 340 hp. Power will be transmitted to all wheels via a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT dual -clutch sports transmission. The chassis was also modified. The latter offers revised suspension and steering, a wider wheel track and a stronger braking system.
The A45 AMG will not be offered on the North American market, instead the planned sports sedan CLA45 AMG will arrive there. The world premiere of the five-door hatchback will take place in March next year at the Geneva Motor Show.
