BMW has added several new engines to its existing models

BMW has prepared several novelties for the upcoming model year . Mainly it is an addition to the range of power units for the 4-series coupe and the large X5 SUV , but the top-of-the- line 3 -series has also received some technical innovations, and the 5-series has also received several technical innovations.

But let's start with the new 4-series coupe , which will receive a new basic gasoline model under the designation 420i. It will have a power of 184 horsepower and will cooperate with a six-speed manual and rear-wheel drive as standard. However, it will be possible to get xDrive all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic for an additional fee. From the opposite end of the spectrum are the 430d and 435d models, which have a BMW TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder diesel under the hood with an output of 258 and 313 horsepower, respectively. Both models are offered exclusively with an eight-speed automatic, but the 430d sends power to the rear wheels, while the 435d sends power to all four wheels.

All-wheel drive xDrive will also be available on request in the 420i and 420d models. In addition to the new engines, the 4 Series will receive the BMW Modern Line package . It differentiates the look of the coupe with lightweight alloy wheels, aluminum body detailing, a leather steering wheel, ambient lighting and Oyster upholstery for the seats, lower dashboard and interior headliner.

The large X5 SUV will get four new engines. The basis will be two four-cylinder BMW TwinPower Turbo diesels with the designation sDrive25d and xDrive25d . Both models will offer 218 horsepower and a standard eight-speed automatic transmission, the only difference being the driven axle – for the sDrive model it's the rear one, while the xDrive has all-wheel drive as standard. The xDrive35i model with a power of 306 hp was added to the range of gasoline versions, while the diesel range was enriched by the xDrive40d version with a power of 313 hp.

Those who want to stand out will reach for the BMW Individual package, which will be available for the X5 from December this year. It will offer twenty-inch wheels, metallic colors with a diamond effect in the shades of Mineral silver, Glacier silver and Imperial blue, and classic metallic colors in the shades of black Ruby and brown Pyrite. The interior will offer Merino leather upholstery, contrasting thread stitching and decors in piano lacquer or wood.

Series 3 will see a new top , in the form of the 335d xDrive Touring model. The "best" station wagon has a 313-horsepower six-cylinder diesel under the hood, which works with an eight-speed automatic and all-wheel drive as standard. The BMW M5 and M6 will receive new colors . Specifically, these are Frozen metallics in blue, black, red and white shades. The same models equipped with the BMW Individual package can also choose Frozen Cashmere silver metallic.

The technical changes will primarily affect the BMW ConnectedDrive system, which can now be equipped with the Traffic Jam Assistant function as part of the additional Driving Assistant Plus system. It automatically maintains a safe distance from the vehicle in line in front of your car and also helps the driver stay in one lane. However, for the system to work, you need to keep one hand on the wheel at all times. This "trick" will be available in the 5 model line and also in the X5 SUV. The same models will also receive the new BMW Parking Assistant .
