Bentley has unveiled its first plug-in hybrid

Bentley recently announced that it will start producing its first luxury SUV from 2016 . Not long after this news, we again read about a first within the brand – this time it is the first plug-in hybrid in the history of the British manufacturer.

The limousine with the simple name Hybrid Concept has a technical and design basis in the Mulsanne model , which, however, is further embellished with copper details in the front headlights, radiator grille, brake calipers and protective strips on the doors. Copper can also be found inside, specifically on the instrument panel , controls or diamond stitching on the seats. Compared to the classic Mulsanne, the hybrid also has different alarm clocks and a drive mode controller .

However, much more important than the appearance is the drive , about which we do not know much. Bentley only disclosed that it has 25% more power than the standard model, but emissions are 70% lower. The purely electric range is at least 50 km . And why did I mention the upcoming SUV at the beginning? Because this will be the first Bentley to get a plug-in hybrid drive !
