Audi is considering expanding the TT model family

Five doors, increased ground clearance , plastic fender skirts and a body at the interface of hatchback and SUV . It can't be an Audi TT anymore, you say. However, the truth is that the TT Offroad concept can easily become another member of the TT family.

And it would be the first time that a TT other than the coupe and roadster versions would go into series production . With the classic coupe presented by Audi in Geneva , the off-road TT shares, for example, the hexagonal grille or the design of the front and rear lights. However, to these elements it adds a bright yellow color, which contrasts the plastic edges of the fenders, sills and part of the bumpers, 21-inch wheels and a higher ground clearance.

However, the dimensions more than the TT compete with the classic Q3 SUV . Audi's latest creation is 4.39 m long, 1.85 m wide, 1.53 m high and has a wheelbase of 2.63 m. The interior is another connecting element with the classic TT , as it offers an almost identical design, including digital instrument panel or three vents. A total of four passengers will be seated on the sports seats. A place was found in the trunk for a 1:8 scale RC model of the concept .

The drive is handled by a plug-in hybrid system , consisting of a two-liter TFSI gasoline engine with an output of 292 hp and two electric motors – one at the front with an output of 54 hp and a torque of 200 Nm, the other at the back with 114 hp and 270 Nm. The system output is 408 hp with a torque of 650 Nm. The transmission of power to the front wheels is handled by the six-speed e‑S tronic transmission , with which Audi achieves a maximum speed of 250 km/h, acceleration to 100 km/h in 5.2 s and consumption of 1.9 l/100 km (CO2 emissions 45 g /km). The concept can travel 50 km purely on electricity, the power of the electric motor is provided by a 12 kWh battery, the total range is up to 880 km.
