Audi A6 , Audi Q3 and most recently Audi A1 . This is the sequence of this year's facelifts of individual model lines of the Ingolstadt car company. The smallest representative of Audi received not only an improved appearance , but above all modern three-cylinder engines.
And it is the first time ever that a three-cylinder gasoline engine is used in a production Audi, but in the spirit of current customs it is doped with a turbocharger. We already know the 1.0 TFSI engine from the Polo and in the A1 it produces 95 hp with a combined consumption of 4.3 l/100 km. The second new three-cylinder is a diesel 1.4 TDI with a power of 90 hp, which claims an average of 3.4 l/100 km. However , four-cylinders remain on offer, namely 1.4 TFSI (123 and 148 hp), 1.8 TFSI (189 hp) and 1.6 TDI (114 hp). All engines have lower emissions and consumption than their predecessors, while the standard is a manual transmission, which can be replaced by an S tronic automatic (standard on the 1.8 TFSI). The top version is still the S1/S1 Sportback with a 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 231 hp and a torque of 370 Nm, which cooperates with all-wheel drive and a manual six-cylinder.
The chassis received a new electromechanical steering , while the effect of the booster weakens at higher speeds. Also new is the choice of one of the driving modes via Audi Drive Select and the option to pay extra for adjustable shock absorbers. Changes to the body can be seen most in the area of the front part, where there is not only a modified Singleframe mask, but also a different graphic of the lights and a redesigned bumper. This results in a two-centimeter extension of the model, which thus measures a total of 3.98 meters. In addition to the classic S line, Audi has also added a Sport line and a Design line as part of the design packages, and the possibility of individualization is also wider, from two-tone paintwork to "fast stripes" to colored vents. The biggest innovation inside the A1 is the use of the additional multimedia system MMI navigation plus with greater navigation and voice control, it is ideal to connect it with the Audi Connect service, through which it is possible to connect to the Internet.
