Audi presented the shape of the new TT coupe

Do you want a completely new car that practically looks like its predecessor ? Then you're in the right place with Audi or the TT model ! At first glance, the new generation of the very popular coupe does not offer many differences.

After all, the body boasts almost the same profile as its predecessor , and the shape of the rear lights is not too different either. So we will have to look for the biggest change in the front part, where the hexagonal radiator grille , which was boasted by all the latest Audi concepts, found its place. The design of the headlights, which can be made of LEDs on request, is also new. If we talk about the design, we have to mention the Tornado line , stretching from the front to the back.

The interior of the new TT was already discussed in January, but I will remind you that the dominant feature is the 12.3-inch TFT display with the Nvidia Tegra 30 graphics processor, which not only replaces alarm clocks, but also the MMI multimedia system , which can otherwise be found on the center panel of most new Audis. Instead of a multimedia system, we find only three air conditioning vents and a few buttons on the center panel. Visually, the interior is incredibly clean.

A bit unconventionally, the new TT is 20 mm shorter than its predecessor , but still has a 37 mm longer wheelbase. The coupe is now also 8 mm narrower, the height has remained the same. In terms of absolute numbers, the TT has a length of 4180 mm , a width of 1832 mm, a height of 1353 mm and a wheelbase of 2505 mm. You can now load up to 305 liters into the trunk, which is 13 liters more than before . Thanks to the use of the modular MQB platform , weight has also been reduced by a fairly substantial 50 kg. Thanks to this, the basic model of the new TT weighs only 1230 kg.

Under the hood, they will initially get two gasoline and one diesel four-cylinder engines. The basis is a 2.0 TDI diesel unit with an output of 184 hp and a torque of 380 Nm. Acceleration to 100 km/h will take place in 7.2 seconds, the maximum speed is 235 km/h with a consumption of 4.2 l/100 km. The weaker gasoline engine is a 230-horsepower two-liter TFSI with a torque of 370 Nm. The sprint to 100 km/h takes 6 seconds (5.3 with the S tronic automatic and all-wheel drive), the maximum speed is 250 km/h and the consumption is an average of 6.8 l/100 km.

A separate chapter is the sportier version of the TTS with a 2.0 TFSI four-cylinder engine with a power of 310 hp and a torque of 380 Nm. Thanks to the standard all-wheel drive and the optional S tronic automatic, the TTS accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Compared to the classic coupe, the TTS also sits 10 mm closer to the road , offers larger wheels and better brakes.
