The German car manufacturer Audi , based in the city of Ingolstadt, has already produced three million cars of the A3 series . This makes this model one of the brand's most successful efforts ever. We have more detailed information about the success.
The first generation of the Audi A3 began production seventeen years ago and thus became one of the founders of the premium compact car segment. Production took place between 1996 and 2003 , and around 913,000 units were sold during that time.
The second generation came in 2003 and was produced until the beginning of this year. In total, almost 2 million units were produced and sold. This year, it was followed by the third generation , which was introduced in autumn 2012 .
The three-millionth jubilee car left the factory gates in mid- July 2013 , and it was specifically the A3 Sportback 2.0 TDI quattro . We congratulate the automaker on its success and wish it continued success.
