The concept of the next global Ford is being presented in Los Angeles these days. The large SUV, or perhaps rather the Edge crossover, is a well-known model in the US, but it will be a newcomer in Europe, where it will soon also go on sale.
The design of the second generation does not deviate from the style established by current Ford models . This means a hexagonal grille, front and rear lights with LEDs or daytime running lights. The exterior color Copper Flame is interesting. In the interior, a ten-inch screen of the MyFord Touch multimedia system , leather upholstery and blue backlighting of the lower part of the doors found their place.
In addition to the new SUV, Ford is also showing many new technologies that will appear in other models of the brand over time. Among the most interesting is fully automatic parking , which requires the driver to simply press a button on the center panel or on the remote control key and the Edge will park itself. The same sensors are used by the system that helps to avoid an obstacle in the same lane .
Among the assistants already introduced today is adaptive cruise control , a system that warns the driver when leaving the lane or monitoring the blind spot. The first global Edge should be presented next year , and it will go on sale in 2015.
