Alfa Romeo is preparing models for a return to the US

Almost everyone is expecting the return of the Italian brand Alfa Romeo to the American market in 2014, which is set to take place after almost 20 years. This return is part of a major reconstruction of the brand and its collaboration with the Fiat, Chrysler and Mazda alliance. Now, new information is available that this brand return will be accompanied by the introduction of four specific new models in the US.

The first of the models will be the new Giulia Sedan – which will be a competitor for a model such as the Audi A4. The upcoming Giulia will be built in the US, so it will share most of the components with the upcoming Chrysler 200, including the V6 Pentastar engine. Alfa Romeo will also introduce a compact crossover SUV, which will be built on the same platform as the current Jeep Compass car. The SUV will be produced alongside the Jeep in Belvidere and will be offered exclusively with Chrysler engines. The third model will be the most important for Alfa Romeo's return to the US. It will be the 4C Coupe and 4C Roadster models. The Alfa Romeo 4C will arrive in the US a year after the launch of the Giulia and will be powered by a 1.8-liter turbocharged engine that produces a total of 296 horsepower.

The Duetto model will certainly be presented as the last one. This name suggests to Alfa Romeo connoisseurs that it will be a sports car, referring to the famous Spider model from the 70s of the last century. This new sports car will be built in Japan and will share its chassis with the next-generation Mazda MX-5. The upcoming Duetto will be powered by a longitudinally turbocharged 1.8 liter engine producing 170 HP.
