Alfa Romeo 4C will be shown possibly in Geneva

It is high time for the Italian brand Alfa Romeo to present another sports model after the 8C Competizione and the last generation of the Spider . Of course, we're talking about the much-hyped 4C coupe with rear-wheel drive and a mid-engine.

Unfortunately, the world premiere in Detroit did not happen, but in the current spy photos we can see a redesigned test prototype from Italy and this means that Alfa Romeo is working on a new sports car after all. It can be said that the 4C is ready for production, as the automaker has changed a few parts from the original prototype and concept. The car intended for testing has a different hood, larger rear-view mirrors, classic door handles and a new diffuser and redesigned lights at the rear.

In the engine compartment, a 1.8 -liter turbocharged four-cylinder (probably 1.75TBi ) with an output of 230-300 horsepower will definitely be used. Power to the rear wheels will be transmitted via a dual-clutch transmission. Acceleration to 100 km/h could take place in less than 5 seconds and the maximum speed is estimated at 250 km/h.

Marchionne stated that the 4C will enter the European market in the second half of this year and the American market by the end of the year. It is not confirmed, but after all, the premiere could take place at the exhibition center in Geneva . We're keeping our fingers crossed that this will actually be the case.
