Report from the Pilsen motor show

There was a time when the West Bohemian metropolis had a large exhibition center where not only regular car shows, but also other exhibitions were held. However, during the decline of this industry, the exhibition center disappeared and the events had to move elsewhere. For some time, the Autosalon resided in the premises of the Invest house of culture, but it was recently demolished. Today, this event must always take place in the parking lot at the shopping center. It is obvious that these are not suitable locations, but this way you will also attract people who only go shopping to the exhibition.

Regardless, this event regularly attracts the majority of West Bohemian brand dealers. At the exhibition area, it was possible to find representatives of Mitsubishi , Opel , Isuzu , Hyundai , Alfa Romeo , Fiat , Skoda , Ford , Mazda , Toyota , Land Rover , Jaguar , Subaru , Mercedes-Benz and Jeep , as well as Vespa and Harley-Davidson motorcycles . In addition to the new cars on display, an accompanying and musical program was also prepared. In addition, several brands decided to lure visitors with much more interesting cars. In the flood of ready-made station wagons, sedans, SUVs and MPVs, the beautiful Alfa Romeo 4C , Jaguar F-Type S Roadster or my favorite Subaru BRZ stood out in particular. It should be a credit to the exhibitors that most of the cars were unlocked and available for visitors to inspect thoroughly. However, the exhibition was static, which is a shame. Similar to how we go to music concerts to listen to music, it would be nice if even at such small events it was possible to drive cars. Otherwise, you could try driving on several simulators , driving over artificial off-road obstacles with Land Rover cars (this brand was an honorable exception) or admiring the interesting cars on display. Several Ford Fiesta 1.3 Cup specials, Ford Escort XR3 youngtimers, MG A and AC Shelby Cobras , Slovakian K1 Attack , several Kaipans , an Excalibur limousine and replicas of racing Skoda 130 RS plus a racing 130 LR from Tym-Motorsport were on display. Even though the weather was not perfect all the time, the interest of the visitors testifies to the importance of even such small events. Let's hope that next year the car show will take place on a larger scale and that in time we will also have some opportunities to test the car while driving.
