Ford Focus ECOnetic – 3,5 l nafty na 100 km!

Ford has released information about the upcoming Focus ECOnetic model. The greener Focus should reach showrooms this year. The manufacturer expects up to 2/3 of the Focus sold in the second half of 2013 to benefit ECOnetic Technology .

The vehicle underwent modifications both in terms of engine and design. The latter is now smoother to reduce the resistance of the air flowing around it. The use of the lower floor cover also did its part. This is now completely flat and, together with large wheel covers and tires with less rolling resistance, saves valuable tens of litres.

Under the hood, we will meet the Duratorq TDCi diesel unit, which was equipped with a new fuel injection system, and the turbocharger was also changed. The maximum power of the drive train is a solid 77 kW. Fuel reduction is also supported by electronic systems. Now here we will meet the start/stop system and the braking energy recovery system.

All in all, the new Ford Focus ECOnetic should drive with an average consumption of 3.5 liters of diesel per 100 kilometers and emit no more than 95 grams of CO 2 /km into the atmosphere. We still have to wait to see if these values will differ in real conditions.
