Skoda is planning an expansion of models in the crossover category

After the Rapid and the new Octavia (which, by the way, will have its premiere in Prague in 10 days), Skoda is focusing on expanding its offer in the category of SUVs and crossovers . A facelifted Yeti will arrive next year, a large SUV in two years, and a small crossover in the foreseeable future!

For now, it has the working name Polar , and with a length of around 4.1 meters, the model should rank alongside the upcoming Peugeot 2008 or Volkswagen Taigun . The design of the model will be based on the style of the latest Skoda cars , which will be clearly reflected in the concept of the front lights, for example. Some elements, such as smaller circular lights incorporated into the main ones, Polar could then take over from the existing Yeti model.

It goes without saying that the modular MQB platform is used, which could help save an interesting part of the costs. Overall, this could mean an interesting price for the end customer, which, however, will not be as low as the Dacia Duster .

Polar could be presented at the end of 2014 and hit the markets in 2015. It will thus complement the offer of the already mentioned Yeti model and the upcoming large SUV Snowman .
