Skoda will most likely not keep its biggest new product this year under wraps! The new generation of Octavia was caught in perhaps the least expected place!
Well, admit it yourself – who would have expected a novelty from Mladá Boleslav in the capital of Chile ? I think probably no one. However, some kind soul took a picture of the car and thanks to this you can look at the completely exposed front of the model. At first glance, the model is very similar to the Rapid , but if you put photos of both models side by side, you will find significant differences!
The main one is that the front lights are not connected to the radiator grille as it is on the Rapid. The mask is also smaller in size, not to mention the front lights. The fog lights are classic circular and again much smaller in size. Overall, the appearance of the front part is surprising. Rapidovian features are clearly definable, yet the model is almost distinct.
No technical data has yet come with the first photos. So we have to make do with what we have! The Octavia III will receive the modular MQB chassis platform. This will allow the wheelbase to be extended by approx. 10.8 cm compared to the current version. The trunk will also grow – from the already large 560 liters to 590 liters !
The range of engines will 99% start with the small 1.2 TSI engine. It will be supplemented with gasolines ranging from 1.4 to 2.0 liters and diesels with volumes from 1.6 to 2.0 liters . Of course with the magical letters TSI and TDI . A 6-speed manual and DSG automatic will be available for an additional fee. All-wheel drive has not yet been confirmed.
The official unveiling of the new product should take place at the end of November or the beginning of December . The selling price will be tens of thousands higher than before. The reason is mainly the price detachment from Rapid…
