The Porsche Cayenne e-Hybrid will arrive in 2014

The technical developers and engineers of the Porsche car company are working diligently on the facelift of the current generation of the Cayenne model, which has been on the market since 2010. The rejuvenated SUV will go on sale in mid-2014 and will also receive an electric version called e-Hybrid .

The Porsche Cayenne e-Hybrid is a plug-in hybrid, which means that the car will be able to be recharged from a regular electrical outlet at home or in the garage. There is only one "green model" in Porsche's current range, and that is the Cayenne S Hybrid . But it has a 3.0-liter V6 gasoline engine with an output of 249 kW, which is supplemented by an electric motor with an output of 34 kW. In this case, it is not possible to talk much about ecology. That is why the Porsche Cayenne e-Hybrid will be launched in 2014, which will inherit the same power unit as the Cayenne S Hybrid, but the electric motor will produce a power in the range of 71-75 kW. It will find its place between the internal combustion engine and the transmission, and the power supply will be provided by lithium-ion batteries with a capacity of 10 kWh.

The car's equipment will include, for example, a system for checking the charging of the accumulators through a mobile application that can remotely control the systems in the car. According to information from the car manufacturer, a fast charger for the new electric Cayenne is also under development, which should reduce the charging time by up to half.
