Volkswagen Golf VII will get new engines and all-wheel drive

Volkswagen announced earlier this week that the newly introduced seventh generation Golf will get three new power units with fuel-efficient BlueMotion technology, as well as 4Motion all-wheel drive. However, it will not be available for all engines.

The range of newly arrived engines starts with the 1.2 TSI BlueMotion engine (105 hp), followed by the 1.4 TSI BlueMotion with 122 hp and 140 hp with the ACM (active cylinder deactivation) system. All mentioned engines will be paired with a six-speed manual or seven-speed DSG transmission . For now, the German brand has not published consumption figures for individual aggregates.

All-wheel drive 4Motion will be available only for the 1.6 TDI BlueMotion (105 hp) and 2.0 TDI BlueMotion (150 hp), which will be connected to a six-speed manual transmission. Volkswagen also stated that the Comfortline and Highline trims of the new Golf VII can be equipped with the driver assistance package for 1,690 Euros (about 42,000 crowns) and adds things like ACC adaptive cruise control, bi-xenons, LED daytime running lights, warning system Plus and others.
