Toyota Camry for next year

Toyota presented a new look for the Camry sedan for the 2012 model year. At first glance, the designers played with the sharper lines of the majestic car, which are evident especially from the front bumper and angular headlights. However, the SE version will have a more pronounced effect, which, compared to the base model, will receive an aerodynamic body kit, a three-spoke sports steering wheel with shift paddles and aluminum interior trim.

Inside the car, customers can look forward to a new dashboard, new seats and an information system with a 6.1" display. Connectivity via USB or Bluetooth, parking camera or satellite navigation is a matter of course. All this with a premium JBL audio system.

Under the hood, in the case of the Toyota Camry, you will be able to choose from three engines, while the basic gasoline one has a capacity of 2.5 liters, a maximum power of 133 kW and a torque of 230 Nm. According to Toyota, the basic unit shows excellent fuel consumption in the extra-urban cycle – 6.7 l/100 km.

At the center of the offer is a 3.5-liter six-cylinder, offering 200 kW of power and a maximum torque of 336 Nm. Here, however, higher performance is also paid for by higher consumption, which amounts to 7.8 liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers in extra-urban traffic.

However, the current trend demands an uncompromising offer of a hybrid unit, and it would be a shame if Toyota didn't have one. The combination of a 116 kW gasoline unit with a capacity of 2.5 liters and a 105 kW electric motor will allow the sedan to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in an excellent 7.6 seconds. As is often the case with hybrids, lower fuel consumption is evident in city traffic. In the case of the Camry, it is 5.4 l/100 km, in extra-urban traffic the gasoline consumption will increase to a still acceptable 6 l/100 km.
