Dacia Duster , one of Europe's best-selling SUVs, underwent its first facelift two years ago. Coincidentally, it was presented in Frankfurt, where the Romanians are now returning with a second, much more modest modernization. The latter should help shorten the wait for the new generation , which will appear at the end of next year.
From the outside, you will recognize the Duster Édition 2016 , as the official press release refers to the car, only when it will be fitted with black 16-inch alloy wheels and Altaï green paint , replacing the previous Olive gray. The lower trim levels have upholstery in black Silicon, the higher ones in gray or black Féderer. Depending on the market, trim strips in Platinum gray will match the upholstery. By far the biggest innovation is the deployment of the Media NAV Evolutuion multimedia system, which was first seen in the annual Celebration model. Its output is a seven-inch touch screen, while the infotainment can also be controlled with the buttons on the steering wheel and, if paired with a phone with the iOS operating system, also with your voice via the SIRI function . There will be navigation, several useful applications and, for the first time ever, an additional reversing camera .
Under the hood, a variety of power units moved in with a standard start-stop system and brake energy recuperation, thus complying with the Euro 6 emission standard . Gasoline powers the turbocharged 125-horsepower TCe and the naturally aspirated SCe 114-horsepower engine, diesel circulates in the guts of the 1.5 dCi with 90 or 110 horsepower.
Dacia will offer a limited edition Duster Urban Explorer with the Baroudeur and Look packages in selected European markets, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia. The first one brings the plastic lining of the fenders and lower parts of the doors, the second then the mirrors, roof rails, side steps and parts of the bumpers in Dark Metal shade, respectively darkened rear windows. In addition to these two packages, new alloy wheels , a leather steering wheel and the Media NAV Evolution multimedia system appear in the equipment.
