So far, the last piece from the Middle Kingdom with an Italian design is the Soueast DX7 SUV , which was also created in collaboration with Mitsubishi.
To put things into perspective, the Japanese automaker holds a 25 percent stake in South East Motor , or Soueast for short, as part of a joint venture. Three diamonds can thus produce cars in the world's largest market at the moment, for a change the Chinese partner has access to some technologies or even entire models that it produces under its logo. Well, it is precisely from Mitsubishi that the GS platform with McPherson struts in the front and a multi-element rear axle comes, respectively 1.5 Turbo (154 hp and 210 Nm) and 2.0 Turbo (190 hp and 250 Nm) gasoline engines in combination with a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
The pleasing design of the 4537 mm long , 1900 mm wide and 1700 mm high bodywork with a wheelbase of 2700 mm comes from the already mentioned Italian studio Pininfarina. Unlike most Chinese cars, the DX7 does not offer an excess of chrome , and at the same time, it received a large number of curves and moldings or a rising line of side windows, which are elements that a European hears about. According to the photos, the cabin also looks very modern, especially the center console with the free-standing display of the multimedia system does not "suffer" from a large number of buttons. Not only the two-tone design of the instrument panel looks valuable, but also the chrome line along its entire width.
