BAIC revealed the concept of a new SUV

So far , Chinese automakers have not heard much about the modern and sometimes slightly controversial design. In their offers, you will mostly find classically cut sedans or copies of Western models across categories. An exception is the BJ20 compact SUV concept from Beijing Auto , which, in addition to being modern, is also a faithful copy of several cars.

The front part borrows the two-stage headlights from the French Citroën C1 and the focus of the much closer Nissan Juke, the rear lights, for a change, look for inspiration in Jaguars or Land Rovers of today. These cars are currently quite attractive for Chinese automakers. The whole is then complemented by angular fenders in the style of the Jeep Wrangler, but filled with much smaller alloy wheels.

In the interior, it can be seen that even the Chinese automakers very quickly understood what the young customer, for whom the serial form of this concept will be primarily intended, hears. Orange frames around the ventilation outlets and the lower part of the steering wheel in the same color complement the screen of the multimedia system and, at least in appearance, the leather seats. The central tunnel received a surface made of, most likely fake, carbon.

The technology of the concept is not mentioned, but the serial model will receive a petrol fifteen thousand in both atmospheric and turbocharged versions. The price of the new model, which will go on sale next year, will start at around 80,000 yuan (approx. 330,000 crowns).
