If you followed our Dakar coverage regularly, you didn't miss a part of the Czech RallyOZ team. The main team crew was Petr Jerie and Laurent Lichtleuchter with a Toyota Hilux passenger car. Although the Australian flag is lit by Petr, he is a Czech native who moved to the opposition and has a racing license there. But it definitely deserves the attention of the Czech media and fans, because it was the only Czech entry in the category of passenger cars this year, and I actually still don't understand why the bigger media, including the public ones, ignore it.
He was quickly assisted in the competition by the crew consisting of Slovak pilot Robert Kasák and Czech navigator and mechanic Jaroslav Kolář . You see, another Czech clue. In addition, their car was a Tatra 815 , which was the only one that also used an original Tatra engine. This is a former car raced by Brazilian André de Azevedo . The latter finished Jerie in 42nd position overall and thus saw his first completed Dakar in his career. Kasák finished in 29th position and won the classification of fast assistance trucks.
