Setra S6, S10 a S208H at Retro Classics 2015

The end of March is the traditional date for the Retro Classics exhibition, which will take place in Stuttgart . And the bus manufacturer Setra will also be exhibiting there, which will bring five historic buses from the 1950s and 1970s.

Setra's biggest event is supposed to be the presentation of three S6 buses, which are the smallest type in the brand's history. This year, this type celebrates exactly 60 years since its presentation at the Geneva Motor Show in 1955. The S6 type was based on the larger S8 model, which had already been sold for four years at that time. In its time, it was a groundbreaking bus that had a self-supporting body and did not use a truck chassis. The first specimen on display is from 1955 and was in use in the former Yugoslavia until the 1980s. It was renovated in 2006 and now belongs to the manufacturer's factory collection. The second specimen from 1962 belonged to the University of Technology in Ulm . It served there for only ten years, then because of its preservation it also became part of the factory collection and to this day it has driven only 25,000 kilometers. The third specimen is also from 1962 and belongs to Fischer Omnibusreisen GmbH & Co. KG .

The S10 model from 1955 is also based on the S8 type. It carried passengers around Lake Constance for twenty years and subsequently also entered the manufacturer's factory collection. The latest type heading to the show is a Setra S208H from 1979. This thirty seater touring coach is operated by Peter Hanses and is available for hire for events and sightseeing. You will be able to see all five buses from March 26 to 29.
