Kia showed its own sports package

Those interested in the sporty look of the Kia Cee'd could only choose the top-of-the-line GT version with a 207-horsepower 16-cylinder petrol engine. However, with the Geneva Motor Show comes the GT Line version , offering a dynamic look in conjunction with a new three-cylinder or modified diesel.

At first glance, you might not even recognize the GT Line from the GT, as both models received a front bumper with LED daytime running lights in the style of ice cubes. The front grille, door sills and rear bumper were also modified, for the three- and five- door hatchback directly from the GT model and for the SW station wagon with a diffuser and double exhaust tailpipe. In addition, the rear lights are made of LEDs , which will probably also appear in the facelifted standard version. Like a proper sports car, the GT Line has 17-inch alloy wheels.

The interior is dominated by gray, white and black seat upholstery with gray stitching, several GT Line emblems, a leather steering wheel, aluminum pedals and piano black paint on the dashboard. The new aluminum start-stop button, backlit USB and AUX sockets or the new chrome decor around the ventilation outlets and electric window control switches will also catch your eye.

The biggest innovation is the T-GDI three-cylinder petrol engine with an output of 120 hp at 6,000 rpm with a torque of 172 Nm between 1,500 – 41,000 rpm, which claims less than 5.1 liters in combined mode and with a six-speed manual gearbox /100 km. The power unit, supercharged with a single-chamber turbocharger , was developed in-house and has injection valves drilled with a laser beam with six separate holes, which, in cooperation with the high-pressure pump , develop an injection pressure of up to 20 MPa. There is also an integrated exhaust collection pipe, which slightly lowers the temperature of the exhaust gases, or modified cooling. In the future, it is expected that the new engine will be deployed across the entire model range of the South Korean automaker.

The second available engine is a modified CRDi 16 -cylinder diesel with 133 hp and 285 Nm of torque (+ 5 hp and 20 Nm compared to the predecessor), while the maximum torque curve has shifted to a lower rev range. Lower consumption and lower production of CO2 emissions are also promised. In addition to the standard six-speed manual, the diesel four-cylinder will also be available with a new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with the option of manual shifting, again developed in-house. It can transmit up to 300 Nm to the wheels, which is why Kia intends to use it in other models as well. In addition, compared to the older six-speed automatic, it has a few tenths lower fuel consumption.

Sales of the Cee'du GT Line in all three body variants and with new technology will begin in the last quarter of this year.
