Hyundai has slightly modified the Veloster coupe

Coupes with one pair of doors on the driver's side and two pairs of doors on the passenger's side do not bloom much in Europe. But it's a slightly different song in the US, and along with a decent facelift of the standard model palette comes a new special Rally Edition series.

But let's start first with the standard Veloster , which as part of the modernization received a new hood, redesigned radiator grille, 17-inch wheels in a different design and 10 mm wider tires for the additional "eighteens". As in the center console of the Elantry GT, the coupe also has a seven-inch display of the multimedia system with HD radio and Apple Siri voice control. There is also a new generation of the BlueLink telematics system. Under the hood, the 16-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 140 hp in combination with a six-speed manual or 132 hp in combination with a dual-clutch automatic transmission continues to work.

The main content of the facelift of the sportier Turbo version is a completely new seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which transmits 204 horsepower from the supercharged sixteen-cylinder to the front wheels. The alternative to the automatic is the same manual six-speed as in the standard Veloster. Visually, the facelift brought a new design of 18-inch wheels and 10 mm wider tires, a redesigned grille and LED front lights. The interior features front seats with better lateral guidance and optional orange accents (combined with Ultra Black and Vitamin C bodywork), red seat belts on the R-Spec model, and a TFT display between the speedometer and tachometer.

Based on the Veloster Turbo R-Spec, the 1,200-unit limited edition Rally Edition was created with matte blue body paint, black 18-inch Rays wheels and aerodynamic elements in imitation carbon. There were no major changes in the interior, only the carpets received the model's logo, blue elements appeared in the doors and the central tunnel, and the seats have black leather upholstery with blue sides with the inscription "Turbo". Under the hood is a turbocharged 16-cylinder engine with a power of 204 horsepower with a torque of 264 Nm and an exclusively six-speed manual transmission with shorter gearshift ranges. Compared to the Veloster Turbo R-Spec, the chassis has stiffer shock absorbers, stabilizer springs.
