It's been a few days since Toyota revealed the first official images of the new generation Auris model . Although the Czechs may now be crazy about the Skoda Rapid , the truth is that the entire VW concern should be wary.
The new generation of Toyota Auris will be presented live for the first time to the visitors of the September motor show in Paris . The car should probably go on sale early next year, rolling off the production line in Derbyshire , England.
These official photos are not the first glimpse of the new Auris. As is Toyota 's habit, the hastily produced images of the pages of the official brochure have been leaked again by pure chance. However, in my opinion, this approach is better than Mazda 's, which made me quite disgusted with the new generation of the Model 6 .
As is customary with successful models, with each new generation they will grow a little and at the same time their weight will decrease. Depending on the version and equipment, the new Auris is up to 40 kilograms lighter than its predecessor. With a length of 4275 millimeters, it has a full 30 millimeters to spare, the width of 1760 millimeters has been preserved. However, the height of the car was reduced to the current 1460 millimeters. The wheelbase of 2,600 millimeters remained the same. A pleasant discovery is the luggage compartment volume of 360 liters even for the Auris Hybrid version (thanks to the placement of the battery under the rear seats).
Customers will be able to choose from a range of five power units. Gasoline units are represented by four cylinders with volumes of 1.33 and 1.6 liters, turbocharged diesel engines with volumes of 1.4 and 2.0 liters. A separate category is the version with a hybrid drive , which combines a gasoline 18-cylinder engine and an electric motor.
