The sixth stage was the final one for the Offroadsport crew

In Mauritania, the team was again unlucky and in the sixth stage Mirek Zapletal had to end the race due to an engine failure. The Hummer H3 Evo continued its journey to Dakar on a cart. The car is currently on a ship heading to Europe. He could be in port in France in about a week. We don't know exactly what happened. After driving about 70 kilometers of the special stage, the water temperature suddenly jumped. Mirek Zapletal stopped and when he and navigator Bartek Boba removed the front cover, they saw blue smoke rising from the engine. At that moment it was clear that the race was over. This was followed by a long wait for the rescue Tatra , loading the car and the journey to the bivouac. They then put the car on a cart behind the assistance truck and continued on. Since our team also provided service for the Kazakh rider Andrei Cherednikov , they completed the rest of the race in normal racing mode. Only the navigator and one mechanic flew home. He will find out what happened to the engine when the car returns home. Even though the testing of the new Ford engine only took place halfway through the race, it showed, even in such a short time, its great potential. In the future, Mirek Zapletal intends to use this engine for his cars.
