The Korean car manufacturer Kia started production of the new Kia cee'd SW yesterday at its production plant near Žilina, Slovakia . After the five-door hatchback , the popular bestseller will soon also be launched in a station wagon version .
Considering the increased demand for the extended version of the Kia cee'd model, it is expected that the total production of the Žilina plant will reach 285,000 cars this year. The first generation of the cee'd SW made up more than a fifth of the total production in the past. In the first seven months of this year, a total of 167,000 cars and 266,000 engines left the gates of the Žilina Kia factory, which represents a year-on-year increase of 11%, or by 52%.
The production plant is also undergoing intensive preparations for the start of production of the pro_cee'd three-door body variant, which will be launched at the beginning of 2013.
