Three Tatras of the BDP team started the Dakar Rally 2015. The porter and his crew in unusual monkey masks

The members of the Bonver Dakar Project team and the other participants of the famous Dakar Rally had to go through the ceremonial opening in the form of arriving on the podium before starting the first special stage. This was best done by the well-known American racer Robby Gordon , who is famous for his stunts. This year he lived up to his reputation and not only waved to the fans, but also showed some of his horsemanship and literally flew over the ramp. He greatly spiced up the moment, which is so extraordinary for every participant of the Dakar Rally .

The moment of arrival at the stage and exiting the truck was particularly memorable and unique for Tomáš Vrátný . The racing head of the team, its navigator Jaroslav Miškolci and on-board mechanic Milan Holáň got out of the cabin of their Tatras with non-traditional racing equipment.

"To the surprise and amazement of everyone around us, we took the stage in monkey masks," revealed Tomáš Vrátný . Even Fabien Calvet , the French director for the truck category, who welcomed the Czech-Slovak trio on the ceremonial opening podium, did not know about the Bonver Dakar Project team's crew plan. "Fabien was quite surprised by it, but the audience took it very positively and the mood was amazing."

The plan to complete the podium in monkey masks was created even before leaving for the Dakar Rally. The first opportunity to see more than thirty members of the team in masks was given to the ever-present Dakar fans already after the receptions, when there was also a variant with monkey masks as part of the group team photo . "If everything goes smoothly, we'll take off the monkey masks," outlined Tomáš Vrátný, who will be at the start of the first special stage of the Dakar Rally 2015 in less than twenty-four hours.

In addition to the racing boss, his navigator Jaroslav Miškolci and on-board mechanic Milan Holána, the Kazakh-Czech crew led by the experienced Artur Ardavičus and the Polish-Czech crew led by the talented Robert Jan Szustkowski will go to the Bonver Dakar Project team. All of them will take part in the world's most demanding rally behind the wheels of three specially modified Tatra Jamal hooded trucks.

The first stage of the 2015 Dakar Rally will lead from Buenos Aires to the city of Villa Carlos Paz . A total of 838 kilometers awaits the more than 400 participants of the famous Dakar Rally, of which 175 kilometers will be measured.

"We are already looking forward to the start. Everything is working for us, so we are just waiting for the pre-start nervousness to set in. He's not here yet. The longer this condition lasts, the better it will be, but I am absolutely sure that it will catch up with us just before the start and we will all enjoy the typical racing nervousness that comes with it. Well, after the start, I think until the third turn, it will fall from us and we will try to show what we have. We will do our best," added Tomáš Vrátný .
