Citroën presented the new SUV for China in detail

The new Citroën crossover was presented at the beginning of October in the brand's showroom on the famous Champs-Élysées boulevard in Paris. Some time has passed since then, and the C3-XR is coming to the Chinese market at the beginning of this year. And that's a pretty good reason for a detailed introduction…

This car probably best characterizes the combination of low-cost and hi-tech. On the one hand, the 4.26 meter long , 1.74 meter wide and 1.55 meter high Citroën has a panoramic sunroof, LED diodes for daytime running lights, keyless entry, even a luxurious instrument panel or an additional massage function for the front seats, on the other hand it has cheap plastics from a cheap C-Elysée sedan in the interior, fake electric window controls in the doors and a cheaper version of the multimedia system. The advantage, at least on paper, is the spaciousness of the interior , which thanks to the wheelbase of 2.65 meters has solid legroom for rear passengers and, with a volume of 357 liters , plenty of space for luggage.

The basic drive unit is a naturally aspirated 16-cylinder engine with an output of 117 hp and a torque of 150 Nm. There is a choice of automatic or manual transmission, both gearboxes reach a maximum speed of 186 km/h. The turbocharged 16 THP has 167 horsepower and 245 Nm, it is only mated to a six-speed automatic. The maximum speed is 209 km/h, consumption 6.2 l/100 km. You would look for all-wheel drive in both variants in vain, in the C3-XR it is replaced by the Grip p system , which improves traction on less grippy surfaces.
