The new generation of Range Rover officially revealed!

The ravages of time take their toll even on true legends. Even the current version of the Range Rover , which has to give way to modern times, willy-nilly, knows about it . Thanks to this, however, we can officially look at a completely new generation of versatile luxury offroad , which will have its world premiere in a month in Paris .

Like most car brands, the Range Rover went on a diet. Thanks to the new aluminum chassis and the use of completely new technology for its production, the next generation of Rover can weigh a really noticeable 420 kilograms. Such a significant weight loss will not make the consequences associated with it wait long – fuel consumption and emission production are the main scarecrows that wake up more than one head of the design department. At the same time, however, there was room for a revised air suspension , which will offer the crew adequate driving comfort in all conditions.
In addition to losing weight, it also lengthened. The new Range Rover has a 100 millimeter longer wheelbase than the previous generation, to which it still gravitates in terms of design. In any case, the car did not avoid the wave of modernity, which is evidenced by the "Evoquo-like" front part, redesigned rear lamps and a more decent series of vertical strips on the side doors. Overall, we encounter here a balanced mix of provocative and at the same time aristocratic appearance.
Customers will be able to choose from three powertrains, with a strong focus on ecology . Evidence of this is the basic six-cylinder diesel with a capacity of three liters, which is well known from the Land Rover Discovery model. The desire for a volume of 4.4 liters is satisfied by the TDV8 eight-cylinder diesel engine, on the very other side of the spectrum is a turbocharged eight-cylinder gasoline engine with a volume of 5 liters.
All named units will be connected to an eight-speed automatic transmission from ZF as standard. Depending on the terrain conditions, the smart transmission can change the length of individual gear stages through the new generation Terrain Response system. The sensitivity of the stabilization and anti-skid system also changes accordingly.
The modern interior draws on the design of the previous generation. The alarm clocks in the instrument compartment have already rung, a large TFT display is available instead. The central panel is dominated by the 8" screen of the multimedia system, thanks to which it was possible to eliminate the number of control elements. The center tunnel, which houses the traditional automatic transmission selector and Terrain Response system buttons, has remained unchanged.
Customers will have a choice of a dual rear seating arrangement. Larger families will appreciate the classic three seats, while managerial types will appreciate a pair of large armchairs. Thanks to the extended wheelbase, the space for the knees of the rear passengers has also increased by a noticeable 120 millimeters.
The manufacturer will accept binding orders for the new generation of Range Rover from next month in more than 160 countries around the world. Deliveries to customers should begin from the region next year. We expect UK pricing to start at £70,000 for the base six-cylinder diesel version. However, fully equipped variants can cost up to twice as much.
