Audi has modernized the Q3 SUV

Until the arrival of the Audi Q1, the Q3 is still the smallest SUV from the Ingolstadt automaker . At the beginning of next year, a facelift will go on sale, which visually sharpened the Q3 and included it in the wave of cars meeting the Euro 6 emission standard .

The headline already mentions the most significant part of the modernization – the Q3 has received a new and considerably more angular form of the Singleframe mask , which is also visually connected to the main headlights. These are equipped as standard with xenon discharge lamps and LEDs for daytime running lights, but for an additional fee they can be entirely made of diodes. The rear lights have also been redesigned, as standard they are entirely made of LEDs, with a dynamic light indicator for changing the direction of travel. And as if LEDs weren't enough, you can also find them in the interior lighting. It also received front seats with electric adjustment and a new system for dividing and securing the load in the trunk as standard, for an additional fee it is possible to order the MMI multimedia system with navigation and another additional Audi connect function, through which you can connect to the Internet or obtain online information about planned route.

Under the hood we find a trio of TFSI petrol engines and a pair of TDI diesel engines , all with four cylinders and turbocharging. The fulfillment of the Euro 6 emission standard and the reduction of CO2 emissions by 17% are also common to all six. The petrol range starts with the 1.4 TFSI with cylinder deactivation and 150 hp and ends with a pair of two-liter TFSIs with 180 and 220 hp. All-wheel drive is standard for the two-liter, the S tronic automatic will be offered by all three engines, but it is only available for an extra charge on the 1.4 TFSI. The diesel range includes a pair of two-liter TDI clean diesels with 150 or 184 horsepower. Both units can be had for an additional fee with Quattro all-wheel drive, the S tronic automatic is also available, but exclusively with all-wheel drive. Audi's specialty is super-efficient ultra versions, available in Q3 with 1.4 TFSI and weaker 2.0 TDI. The chassis received a more comfortable tuning, adaptive shock absorbers can also be obtained for an additional fee.

However, the absolute highlight of the offer is the sporty RS Q3 , which, in addition to the sporty bodykit, also offers a 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder engine with an output of 340 hp and a torque of 450 Nm ( an increase of 30 hp and 30 Nm ). These values are transmitted to all wheels by the seven-speed S tronic automatic, which allows acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds (an improvement of 0.7 seconds) and a maximum speed of 250 km/h. From the new model year, an electronically controlled exhaust flap will provide a better soundtrack.

If we go back to the classic Q3, it will also be equipped with some of the modern safety assistants , which include blind spot monitoring, multi-collision braking and traffic sign recognition. Sales will start next year in February, the base price is 29,600 euros (approx. 824,000 crowns) for the Q3 and 56,600 euros (approx. 1,575,000 crowns) for the RS Q3.
