Volkswagen also modernized the CrossFox

The classic Fox , the spacious SpaceFox and the off- road SpaceCross derived from it have undergone modernization, leaving the CrossFox as the last of the Fox family of Volkswagen. However, its modernized form will surprise few.

The design is pretty much what you'd expect following a basic Fox . The lights are new, especially the ones at the front strongly inspired by the Golf, the radiator grille with the characteristic silver line and both bumpers. The Cross version is further identified by plastic-lined fenders and bumpers, higher ground clearance , 15-inch alloy wheels (205/60 R15 tires), roof rails and a spare wheel on the fifth door. An interesting detail is the image of a fox in the rear bumper . For the first time ever, thanks to CrossFox, the entire model range will be available in Opera red, Lunar silver, Night blue and Sahara orange.

We have already written about the new interior of the Fox several times, but in short it is appropriate to remind you that the multifunctional steering wheel , instrument cluster and seat upholstery are completely new, the plastic surfaces have received a better surface . As part of the additional costs, a multimedia system with a 5.5-inch touch screen, cruise control or a rain sensor was added.

Under the hood, we find a completely new 16-liter MSI that can run on gasoline or ethanol . In the first case, it has a power of 110 hp at 5750 rpm and a torque of 155 Nm at 4000 rpm, in the second case the values jump to 120 hp and 165 Nm, both available at the same rpm. Already 85% of the torque is available at 2000 rpm. The front wheels are driven via a six-speed manual or automatic transmission. The missing all-wheel drive is replaced by the Off-road function on, for example, wet or slippery roads, which adjusts the stability control and ABS settings. There is also an electronic differential lock, brake assistant and hill start assistant.
