Honda has updated the CR-V for the US market as well

The pre-production version of the facelifted Honda CR-V in the specification for the European market is currently standing at the Paris showroom, but the Americans are a bit ahead. Their specification of the modernized Japanese SUV is not only in the world in its final form, but also on sale from October 1st .

The most interesting innovation is a significant redesign of the 2.4 i-VTEC four-cylinder petrol engine , which still produces 188 hp, but the torque curve has increased by 11% from 220 to 245 Nm. At the same time, the SUV is slightly more fuel-efficient thanks to a modified automatic transmission with continuously variable transmission – in the version with front-wheel drive it claims 8.1 l/100 km, in the version with all-wheel drive Real Time AWD it consumes 8.4 l/100 km.

Other changes have taken place on the chassis, which in all variants is newly equipped with the VSA stabilization system, forward collision detection and adaptive electronic power steering , from the EX version, the CR-V has a wider wheelbase at the front and rear thanks to 0.5 inch wider wheels . The top level Touring comes as the first ever CR-V with adaptive cruise control , the base will also include lane departure warning and a brake system that mitigates the consequences of an accident.

In terms of design, the front part has undergone the biggest changes with a completely redesigned bumper , new fog lamps, LED diodes for daytime running lights in the front lights and a radiator grille with a chrome bar in the lower part. In the rear, we find a new bumper together with a chrome bar under the rear window. The range of alloy wheels was also refreshed.

For the first time, passengers in the back seats will have their own vents for the ventilation and air conditioning system, while passengers in the front can look forward to new sunshades and armrests. In addition, the driver will have a ten-way adjustable and heated seat from which he can control the new multimedia system with a seven-inch screen . Another display "enthrones" above it, on which the date, time or position are displayed using a compass. A new electronically controlled trunk lid is available as an extra.

As already mentioned in the introduction, the modernized CR-V has been on sale since October 1st in four trim levels : LX, EX, EX-L, EX-L Navi and Touring. The base model with front-wheel drive costs $23,320 (approx. 500,000 crowns), the cheapest four-wheel drive costs $24,570 (approx. 527,000 crowns) and the top-of-the-line model with all-wheel drive will cost you $32,770 (approx. 703,000 crowns) ).
