Fiat showed the new Doblò in Hannover

Fiat Doblò already managed to attract over one million customers during its existence (since 2000). At the currently ongoing commercial vehicle fair in Hannover , a significantly modified Fiat Professional Doblò stands on the stand, the automaker even refers to this model as its fourth generation.

Either way, the new Doblò (as we can politically correctly refer to it) more or less matches the design of the recently introduced Ram ProMaster City , which is on sale in North America. This means a completely revised front part with a significantly larger radiator grille, new headlights, bumper and hood. There is a frame around the rear lights, more emphasizing the horizontal line of the car, again with a significantly redesigned bumper.

The interior underwent an even more drastic transformation, which came significantly closer to Fiat passenger cars . Practically only the instrument cluster remained from the original third generation, and even that received new backlighting and chrome frames. The center console is now cleaner in design and offers the UConnect multimedia system with a five-inch touchscreen, integrated navigation and digital radio reception. In lower versions, a radio with Bluetooth, USB and Aux connectivity will be available instead of infotainment. The practical side is represented by the multifunctional front bench , which provides three places to sit and under which there is a storage space. The middle seat can also be folded down and used as an armrest.

A wide range of versions and useful features make a van a van. In the case of Dobla, up to 1000 different versions can be configured, from classic vans to special cars. In addition, there are four basic body variants (Cargo, Combi, truck and flatbed) and you can choose from 200 different types of chassis. The rear doors can be opened at an angle of 180 degrees, if necessary, the passenger seat can even be folded down to transport longer material, and if we are talking about a classic box van, you can load up to 5 m 3 of cargo!

Six diesel engines under the hood, starting with the 1.3 MultiJet with a power of 75 and 90 hp with the same torque of 200 Nm. There is also a 1.6 MultiJet with a power of 100 and 105 hp (torque 290 Nm), a 1.6 MultiJet with a robotic gearbox with a power of 90 hp (torque 200 Nm) and a 2.0 MultiJet with a power of 135 hp (torque 320 Nm). There are two petrol engines in total, and their range includes a 14 -horsepower 95-horsepower (127 Nm torque) and a 120-horsepower TurboJet (206 Nm torque). A complete alternative is the possibility of choosing a dual-fuel version of the 1.4 TurboJet engine, which will run on natural gas in addition to gasoline. The diesel versions of the 1.3 MultiJet (90 hp) and 1.6 MultiJet (105 hp) can optionally leave the factory with the EcoJet package of environmental modifications , reducing fuel consumption with a start/stop system, tires with lower rolling resistance, an aerodynamic package, low-viscosity oil, smart alternator and variable displacement oil pump.

The Dobla chassis uses independent multi-element suspension of the rear wheels and the Traction+ system, which guarantees good traction even on surfaces with reduced grip. The new soundproofing of the passenger compartment means 3 dB less noise in the cabin while driving. Of course, standard safety equipment includes ABS, but also stability control with anti-skid system, hill start assistant, tire pressure control and frontal and side airbags.
