Volkswagen E-Scooter – The future of urban transport?

At the beginning of each week, when I shuffle through the queues of our metropolis and swear at everything around me, I wish most of all to get on a small motorcycle and weave my way through the queue the way the nimble messengers can. Increasingly, however, it is possible to see briskly moving traffic participants whose machines do not emit any sound and, above all, not a gram of emissions. The new generation of urban transport calls itself an e-scooter , and the German Volkswagen is also coming up with one .

Yes, this particular model is still the music of the future, but considering how fast new electric cars are developing, it is by no means distant. Human laziness and, above all, obsession with ecology is an excellent marketing tool.

Volkswagen already presented its E-Scooter concept at last year's Shanghai Auto Show . The compact and probably also very light machine hides a nickel-metal hydride battery that sends energy to a 350 watt electric motor. Thanks to this, the E-Scooter speeds up to 48 km/h and can travel approximately 40 kilometers on a single charge.

The time of the Volkswagen E-Scooter concept is fast approaching, but before it happens, the manufacturer is coming up with another alternative for urban transport. One possibility is the development of an even simpler machine, which would be available to those interested in quick transfers between the centers of large cities for a few pennies. However, this future is still a long way off.
