Facelift of the British-Chinese MG6

After returning to his native Great Britain , the MG car company, at that time in Chinese hands , but with a factory in its original homeland, set about rejuvenating individual model lines. First up is the mid-range MG6 sedan or liftback .

The main appearance changes took place in the rear part of the body. There, the British-Chinese automaker used not only a new trunk lid , but also different group lights and a bumper. In the front part, LEDs for daytime running lights appear for the first time in the series equipment of any MG car. These are accompanied by a modified radiator grille and also a new bumper. The updated palette of colors and alloy wheels is already a matter of course for a facelift.

Inside, higher quality materials await, led by new plastics and upholstery, all of course with higher quality workmanship. The instrument panel received a chrome frame and new graphics. The control of the multimedia system now takes place via the rotary control on the central tunnel, which, according to the automaker, is much more intuitive. The classic parking brake was completely retired, replaced by its electronic version .

There are no significant changes under the hood, and the MG6 continues with the turbocharged TCi 18-cylinder petrol engine with 133 and 160 horsepower. For the British market, the automaker also offers a 1.9 DTi-TECH four-cylinder diesel engine with 150 horsepower. A five-speed manual or a six-speed dual-clutch automatic for gasoline engines and a six-speed manual for a diesel engine are available as transmissions. Minor changes, without more specific numbers, are promised by MG in the area of consumption and emissions .
