The fight between Renault and Seat, which has been proclaimed several times, for the fastest front wheel of the Nürburgring has continued. The Leon Cupra 280 Performance Pack is headed for sale, which is nothing other than the record-breaking car from the Ring.
To begin with, I can't forgive myself for a comment that, after all, I also published in my blog . The Leon Cupra set the record in March, and even then Seat claimed that it was the fastest mass-produced front wheel from the Nordschleife. However, wasn't the Spanish manufacturer pulling us a bit by the nose when he started selling the absolutely necessary accessories, hidden under the collective name Performance Pack , only in August?
Whichever side you're rooting for, it doesn't hurt to read the Performance Pack's list of extras . In its basic form, it contains four-piston Brembo brakes with a disc diameter of 370 mm (30 mm more than the classic Cupra), 19-inch wheels in black or orange, and door sill extensions in body color. The price of the package in Germany is set at 2,530 euros (approx. 70,000 crowns), in Britain, where the package is called the Sub8 Performance Pack , it will cost 2,025 pounds (approx. 70,000 crowns).
Of course, that's not all, because the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi-slicks are missing. These are available in Germany with the whole package for 3,060 euros (approx. 85,000 crowns), in Britain they cost 460 pounds (approx. 16,000 crowns) separately, which is, as the press release does not forget to note, about 540 pounds (approx. 19,000 crowns ) less than what rival Renault charges for them. If you decide on the Performance Pack, expect a limitation – it is only available for the version with 280 hp and only in combination with a three-door body . Due to the unavailability of this body in our country, the offer of the Performance Pack in the Czech Republic is at least a question mark.
If you don't want to show off your car from the Ring, you can decorate your Cupra with the Black Line and White Line packages. Both have 19-inch wheels, rear-view mirrors, grille surround and Cupra logo in white or black, depending on the package chosen. It includes a roof spoiler , which is always black. Both packages are available on the Czech market and cost 6,000 crowns . The third Orange Line color package is due to arrive in December, but it is only confirmed for Great Britain so far.
