Unique transporter Mercedes-Benz racing 300 SL

A truly unique piece was shown at Goodwood this year. Mercedes-Benz brought there a 300 SL racing transporter. It is traditionally exhibited in the car company's museum in Stuttgart . The car was created in 1955, because even then it was not appropriate to drive a racing special on the axis at the start of the grand prix. The transporter was built in the racing department and could reach a speed of approximately 160 km/h. The engine from the 300 SL model was not running in its guts. However, the original piece did not survive, the automaker had to have it remade. At the rear, a race-type 300 SLR was installed at Goodwood, of which there are two examples. Sir Stirling Moss , for example, raced a similar one.
