In addition to the Supra, Toyota and BMW will build a new Z4 together

In addition to the already started cooperation between Toyota and Subaru , the largest Japanese car manufacturer also concluded a contract with BMW . Here, too, the production of a new sports model is planned, which will not only succeed the legendary Supra , but also the BMW Z4 roadster .

The BMW Z4 is currently in its second generation and, like most BMWs, it offers all-wheel drive. And since the new platform, used for both the next Z4 and the Supra, will be front-engined and rear-wheel drive , the Z4 concept will not change. Arrival is planned for 2017 at the earliest .

Since BMW is the leader in the production of lightweight carbon body parts , it is likely that the new pair could also receive those carbon parts. However, the technology is expensive and there is speculation as to whether Toyota would adopt it.
