Citroën introduced the production version of the SUV DS

The first SUV of the DS division will be the expected production version of the Wild Rubis concept , which was presented last year in Shanghai. In addition, after the DS 5LS sedan, the DS 6WR SUV will be the second model of the brand, which will probably not look elsewhere than in China .

Update 7/3/2014 – Added official photos of the interior.

The DS 6WR , like the Wild Rubis that was the forerunner of this new premium SUV , is characterized by a spectacularly energetic style and fluidity of form, which ensure a high degree of homogeneity. Thanks to its charismatic appearance , to which its unprecedented proportions contribute, the DS 6WR ranks among the most modern SUVs .

The DS 6WR SUV offers a new identity for the front fascia, which already appeared on the DS 5LS model. It is characterized by an elaborate and elegant radiator grille called "DS Wings" . It is connected to the headlights by two chrome fenders, resulting in an arch that adds dynamism and modernity to the front part. The specific radiator grille carries the DS logo. It is also emphasized by the distinctive light signature of the car consisting of tuning-shaped daytime running lights and xenon headlights .

The rear lights are newly built into the wrap-around trunk lid. The glass of the rear lights is embedded in a chrome strip, which further emphasizes the light signature and 3D design of the lights . A DS grid with the DS logo appears on the side of the lights. The wrap-around boot lid at the bottom is accentuated by a chrome strip into which the twin tailpipes are integrated.

The interior emphasizes the materials used , led by the two-tone leather upholstery and the classic pattern of DS cars. The specifically shaped steering wheel also corresponds to the other DS models, on the other hand, the center console is more conventional, unlike for example the DS5. Other materials include aluminum decorations , LED diodes provide backlighting.

The novelty is 455 cm long , 186 cm wide and 161 cm high and offers an extraordinary wheelbase of 273 cm . These generous dimensions create an impression of strength, but also the desire to get in and settle down. The car meets the real needs of luxury SUV customers in terms of features and versatility. Nineteen-inch wheels, placed "in the 4 corners" contribute to an excellent driving experience.

The Citroën DS 6WR is additionally equipped with the Grip Control system . This technology makes it possible to ensure optimal mobility on all types of terrain without the need to use 4-wheel drive and at the same time reduces fuel consumption and CO 2 emissions. A high level of technology is also represented by engines such as the e-THP 160 and THP 200 with sequential direct injection, using a high-pressure pump and Twin Scroll turbocharger. The engines are mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
