The successor to the BMW X1 will arrive in 2015

As soon as the BMW X1 managed to establish itself in today's "wild" market, we already have news about its successor.

It should arrive in 2015 on the UKL platform, using front-wheel drive. Several Mini and BMW 1GT models are built on this platform, which will be presented to us in 2013.
Management people justify this step by saying that it will help reduce production costs, reduce the final selling price and thus increase competitiveness. Inside, we find more space thanks to the transversely mounted engine, which is not usual for BMW.
It is not surprising that the model will share many parts with the next generation Mini Countryman and we will be able to optionally equip the car with a 4×4 drive based on a viscous Haldex clutch.
