Venucia is preparing to sell a cheap hatchback

For low-cost models for India and Russia, Nissan has Datsun in its portfolio , while in China its role is fulfilled by Venucia , a car company created jointly with the domestic manufacturer Dongfeng . And since their joint cheapest model, the R30 hatchback , is about to hit showrooms, it doesn't hurt to imagine it more closely.

I don't know how good you are at recognizing cars, but above all from the silhouette of the Venucia R30 you can find out which car was the basis of this five-door hatchback. However, the Nissan Micra (March in some markets) in its next life received a completely new front part with larger headlights and a thoroughly updated rear part also with new headlights and, above all, a trunk lid, inspired by the Cologne triplets from TPCA .

The Micra modifications also continue inside, where it is probably best to recognize that the R30 is above all a cheap car . The seats have firmly built-in headrests, the box in front of the passenger cannot be closed, there is only a folding bench at the back and the center console is very simple. Despite the emphasis on the low price, we can find a pair of front airbags and a radio in the base . With the Nissan, the R30 shares, for example, ventilation outlets or some controls, but it is still true that it is not easy to recognize the basic car.

Technically, Venucia goes its own way, because the four-cylinder fifteen-liter engine in the Micra (the only engine on the Chinese market) is replaced here by a three-cylinder twelve-liter HR12DE originally from Nissan with a power of 73 horsepower and a torque of 104 Nm. The front wheels are driven using a five-speed manual transmission.

The Venucia R30 aims to appeal primarily to younger customers looking for their very first new car. The price, which does not exceed 50,000 yuan (approx. CZK 162,000), is adapted to this.
