BMW sold the first cars with laser headlights

The first car company to come up with laser lights was BMW last year with the i8 model . Series production and sales to regular customers were scheduled to begin in the fall, and for a long time it seemed that no one would take this lead from BMW. But last month, Audi came out with the R8 LMX , claiming it would be the first brand to offer a production car with lasers. However, the whole fight has another winner in the end.

It happened to be BMW , which managed to deliver the first i8 with laser headlights to its customers yesterday. Everything took place within the framework of a solemn ceremony in Germany, and each customer paid an amount exceeding CZK 3,442,400 for his car. This is the price for a basic i8 without laser headlights.

In terms of technology, the sporty plug-in hybrid offers a combination of a supercharged three-cylinder 1.5 TwinPower Turbo and an electric motor with a total output of 362 horsepower. The BMW thus accelerates to 100 km/h in 4.4 seconds and reaches a maximum speed of 250 km/h. Gasoline consumption is an average of 2.1 l/100 km, the supply of electricity is provided by lithium-ion batteries . The i8 can travel up to 37 km on electricity.
