Toyota presented the modernized Yaris in more detail

After the release of the first photo of the European modernization of the Toyota Yaris , which was supplemented with some information, the Japanese automaker comes with a more detailed presentation . Not that the Yaris surprises with anything, but it's definitely worth taking a closer look at the car.

As you already know from the earlier presentation, the facelift is mainly in the style of the smaller Ayga . The front part evokes the Aygo and its characteristic X mainly thanks to the bumper with a really large intake opening. The headlights with LED diodes for daytime running are also new. We also find LEDs in the rear, but this time in the entire headlights. The rear bumper and the area around the number plate were also changed, and a quartet of 15- or 16-inch alloy wheels were added to the offer.

The interior has received better materials and, by increasing the center console by 23 mm, which goes hand in hand with the reduction of the shift lever by 30 mm, also better ergonomics . The improved Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system with a seven-inch screen was added to the equipment. The upholstery offer has been completely changed.

Underneath the new body is a chassis with a more comfortably tuned suspension and new shock absorbers at the front and rear. Thanks to the rear torsion beam and stiffer front stabilizers, the Yaris, in addition to greater comfort, also offers better grip and greater driving pleasure . Better sound insulation improved the acoustic comfort in the cabin, the steering with electronic booster was also modified.

Under the hood, we find the same set of engines as before the modernization. However, if you would expect them to be adopted unchanged, then you are mistaken. The basic liter three-cylinder is from a new range of Toyota engines with better thermal efficiency and thus better economy. The result is 69 hp and 95 Nm at 99 g CO2/km (95 g/km with the stop/start system). The second petrol engine, the four-cylinder 1.33 , has a power of 99 hp and a torque of 125 Nm, and together with the diesel four-cylinder 1.4 D-4D with a power of 90 hp and a torque of 205 Nm, they mainly have a quieter operation. The hybrid version , combining a four-cylinder 1.5 and an electric motor, has a power of 105 hp and, thanks to modifications, consumes only 3.3 l/100 km. It also meets the Euro 6 emission standard.
