Subaru showed the modernized Trezia MPV

Like the Toyota Verso-S twin, the Subaru Trezia comes in the new model year with a slightly improved face . In addition to it, it will also get more economical engines and there is even speculation about an electric version .

You can recognize the modernized Trezia quite easily – the radiator grille has a new honeycomb structure and is also placed in a chrome frame. This, along with the new bumpers , gives the small MPV a more elegant look, which can be accentuated by 17- inch wheels or more pronounced side sills on higher versions. The color palette was expanded by two shades.

The interior mainly features higher quality materials and an improved multimedia system . This can now be paired with a smartphone or connected to the Internet through it. New is the instrument panel , which now contains only a speedometer and a tachometer. A small display took the place of the fuel gauge. A system that, thanks to the use of thermal crystals , reduces the penetration of the sun's rays into the interior and thus lowers its temperature, and at the same time also increases the efficiency of the air conditioning, is especially useful on hot days.

Under the hood, a new 13-liter gasoline engine has found its place, which works in the Atkinson cycle and has an output of 99 hp with a consumption of about 4.5 l/100 km. The second option is a 15-litre gasoline engine with 109 horsepower and a consumption of 5.0 l/100 km. Both engines are equipped with a CVT automatic, as well as front or all-wheel drive .

Interesting news in connection with Trezia is the possibility of a purely electric version . Subaru is working with Toyota on an as-yet-undetermined electric car, and the result should be known before 2020, because in 2018 new regulations will apply in the USA , which the traditional Japanese carmaker must go through and it will not work without an electric car. And it is in this connection that it is speculated that the small MPV is a suitable candidate for the platform for the new electric car . It is the cheapest and quite possibly also the most efficient way. However, everything is still only speculative.
