Students built an open Skoda Citigo

16 young talents (two girls and fourteen boys) of the Skoda Auto corporate vocational school are building their dream car – the sports convertible Skoda CitiJet , with the support of the chief designer of the Skoda brand Jozef Kabana and his team. This dynamic two-seater will be presented to the public at the end of May at the 33rd GTI meeting at Lake Wörthersee (May 28-31).

Update 5/22/2014 – Skoda has published official images, which we have added to the gallery.

Skoda CitiJet is a dynamically and expressively designed urban convertible based on the Skoda Citigo model . The exterior impresses with a metallic paintwork in a combination of blue and white and sporty, blue-painted sixteen-inch light alloy wheels. Also impressive is the handcrafted rear spoiler and dual-tip exhaust. Under the hood of the car is a 1.0 MPI gasoline engine with a power of 75 hp.

The sporty interior is based on the interior of the action model Skoda Citigo Sport . This includes a red-threaded, leather-wrapped three-spoke steering wheel, as well as a leather-wrapped handbrake handle and gear knob. The seat covers and inlaid carpets are made in a sporty design . The instrument panel will receive an original white-red design. In addition, a special sound system with a power of 300 Watts and blue LED lighting that reacts to sound will be installed in the car.

This apprenticeship project is implemented at Skoda Auto for the first time. Its aim is to enhance pupils' creativity and expertise by projecting their enthusiasm and their own ideas into the car. "It's great to see how committed and passionate our students are to work," says Bohdan Wojnar , member of the Skoda Auto board of directors responsible for HR management. "The Skoda CitiJet is a unique design study full of emotions, which will certainly attract the attention of visitors when it premieres at Lake Wörthersee ."
