Octane decibels 4 – Racing fever

It's interesting that sometimes the selection seems so monotonous to us. Last night there were mainly rock bands, now it was a problem to find a song from the racing environment whose performer was not from Finland.

Robbie Williams – Supreme

The music video for the song Supreme is called Gentleman racers. As the caption says, it is a tribute to British Formula 1 driver Jackie Stewart . In the clip, Robbie plays his fictitious rival Bob Williams and competes with him for the season title. He crashes during it, but will return to the race track in the last race, where the title is to be decided. However, Williams suffers intestinal problems and is accidentally trapped in his caravan, leaving him unable to enter the race. The scenes with Stewart are original, although many of them are keyed by Robbie. The newly shot scenes are then edited to look just as old.

One Shot – Millenaire

The group One Shot probably doesn't tell you much, it's a couple of French hip-hoppers who joined forces for the soundtrack to the second part of Taxi Taxi . The clip starts on the autocross track, where the Ford Escort RS Cosworth, Mitsubishi Lancer EVO V and EVO VI, Subaru Impreza WRX , but also the small and nimble Nissan Micra GTi meet . Of course, the white Peugeot 406 V6 taxi, which is actually the protagonist of the film, and its owner Daniel, cannot be missing either. There are also many cuts from the film in the clip.

Finns have always loved car racing. They have always excelled in them and have the most World Rally Champions in the world. It is not surprising that a film by Bensao Suonissa (Gasoline in the veins) about rally races was already filmed in 1970. The song of the same name from this film uses footage from the film, in which the protagonists, a racer and his navigator, are trying to win a winter rally. See for yourself how they fare in the competition.

The Rasmus – First day of my life

And the Finnish performers once again, even if we change the genre and the racing car. The band The Rasmus shot a music video for the song Sven Bollinger on a German racing oval in 2003. And on this type of track, not just any racing car can be raced, but a Volkswagen Passat V8 Star special for German races. There is also plenty of water and a team of Cheerleaders.

Věra Martinová – The last rally

And we elect the last representative again from the home scene. Unfortunately, there probably isn't an original music video for the song, so please excuse the photo collage version. Věra Martinová sang a song about an unhappy love for a rally competitor who dies during the last race of his career. The male voice was spoken by Jan Kanyza.

Did your favorite racing song not make it to the finish line? Don't despair and write to us so we don't forget about her next time.
