Skoda has revealed what it is planning for the future

Last year, Skoda sold 920,800 cars , which marks the second best result in history, as well as sales of 10.3 billion euros . However, in order for the car company to stick to its plan to sell 1.5 million cars a year in 2018 , it must come up with significant innovations. Last week we brought the news that Skoda will move a little higher in the hierarchy of the Skoda concern , now we know that a new model will be produced in Kvasiny.

Certainly the most important news is the production of a new model at the factory in East Bohemia's Kvasiny . This was officially confirmed by the head of the company, Winfried Vahland , after a meeting with Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka , who was visiting Germany last week. "The decision to produce a new model will strengthen the position of the plant in Kvasiny. The future of this Skoda Auto plant, as well as the plants in Mladá Boleslav and Vrchlabí, is thus secured for the long term," said Winfried Vahland about the new model.

Czech Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka stated not only about the new model: "Skoda Auto is one of the jewels of the Czech industry with a significant impact on our economy, so I am very happy that we managed to attract another significant investment to the Czech Republic and secure new jobs. For my government, the support of investments is one of the key topics, and we will continue to act on how it will be possible to support the implementation of the investment as much as possible – for example, in the form of technical and transport infrastructure in the region."

Neither party has yet revealed which model it will be, but it is generally assumed that a new large SUV with the working name Snowman will be produced in Kvasiny. It is also speculated that a Skoda twin with the Seat logo would be produced at the same plant – but this information has not yet been confirmed.

Of course, on the contrary, we know that before the end of this year's holidays, the production of the third generation of the little Fabia will start, which we will probably buy for the first time before the end of the year. The premiere will take place at the Paris Motor Show, and under the hood we will most likely see a shortened version of the MQB platform , which Fabia would use as the first car in the concern. Under the hood, there will be gasoline and diesel units produced by the VW concern , which already meet the Euro 6 standard, but we will certainly not see the RS version , which is currently not so interesting and important for Skoda.
